Pavizham Punjabi - "Fully loaded with Surprise"
I know whats Dhaba, and i have been to many dhaba across south india.....
"Dhaba is the name given to roadside restaurants in Northwest region. They are situated on highways and generally serve local cuisine, and also serve as truck stops.
Dhabas were characterized by mud structures and cots to sit upon while eating. A wooden plank would be placed across the width of the cot on which to place the dishes. With time, the cots were replaced by tables. The food is typically inexpensive and has a 'homemade' feel to it.
I have seen many dhabas in kongunadu region breaking all the dhabas ethics, with very crazy names!!!! many many even in every half mile, and i was wondering what do they serve? who will eat? how the food will be? who is the cook?....and i never gave a try all these years (what a big mistake!!!!!).....
many of my friends was talking about "Pavizham Punjabi".........i did not even understand what does the name means(ippovadhu sollungappa,)!!!! who cares the name,... when you are serving outstanding food!!!!
from the perundhurai main road when you enter inside was just wondering did i entered the flex design work shop or what!!!!!!!!! there are full of advertising hoardings all around, where is the restaurant ????????
no where you call the word ambiance!!!!! again who cares ambiance...... if you serve delicious food!!!!!
finally there are many sheds with tin sheets, normal chairs and tables and you take a tour there are many sheds like that, hope they can easily accommodate 200 pax at the time, places for family, places for the people who are already had liquids and come for the solids!!!! place for the lovers tooooooo.......
Somebody at the entrance notice you while entering and they will guide you to seat in appropriate area, a normal floor with a high ceiling shed, normal table & chair...even you don't need a fan, good ventilation.......
person aged at 50's with a dhoti with west (traditional dress code!!!!) is there to serve you with more care and concerned too!!!
How to start ...............the food, variety, taste, and they way it served, there is no word to describe, they know what you want, and what ever they serve, you like!!!!! at first i though what i will get being a vegetarian (many places i got disappointed and being served only rasam, rice, pickle for veggies.....the recent one is at nayar mess Chennai!!!!! ).... but at the end i have never tasted that variety of vegetarian dish being served to me.....a dry baby corn dish - you cant differentiate that with a prawn roast!!!!!, mind blowing dhal, soft roti, fabulous veg curry, and at the end curd rice like cream.......you will get variety of veg dishes here!!!!!
there is no separate descriptions needed for non vegetarians its just out of world......from kadai roast, to crab and from fish curry to prawn fry, mutton chukka to nattu kozhi varuval........you will get everything ..........finally the cold payasm!!!! Yummmyyy!!!
how they are differ from the stereo type restaurants??? (cause in erode you will find decent restaurants like Junior Kuppanna, Kongu Parota.........)
1. their service is so fast that before you clean your banana leaves food arrive at the table
2. the quantity & the quality & the pricing is simply remarkable
3. the main reason is their taste and its a unique preparation that you never get anywhere, homely, with less oil, moderate spicy, well cooked........and you call what ever the dish name,......touch wood you wont get that taste in any of the stereo type restaurants across!!!
4. they don't force you to give more orders, they know to SERVE and make you eat good.
finally out of all my earlier review this is the first place i give full score (other than the advertising boards)
Of course this experience opened up many things in mind and i also came out from the so called ETHICS...... its all about being different that's what people like, you cant be doing what every one is doing, you create your own style!!!!! that's what Pavizham Punjabi doing!!!(including their name ....HA HA HA)
When you are unique !!!! No wonder this place is always crowded..........make sure you visit this place next time!!!!
